MAC-RODARTE THE BRAINLESS AND THE BEAST

In February 2010 RODARTE shows their collection inspired about Ciudad Juarez, because the sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy (creators of RODARTE) made a trip to El Paso, Texas, and they wanted to do a collection with the elements they saw, in the New York Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the models were show like ghosts in the catwalk, with inspired Victorian shattered dresses, that's ok at this point, personally I love the Mexican tradition of Dia de Muertos (All saints day), because is very colorful, joyful and is beautiful because the live and the death reunite once a year, but I'll give you more information about the celebration of Dia de Muertos.

Everything was “ok“ until they explain why they did their collection inspired in the beautiful landscape of the desert,
oh I forgot they said the inspired their collection too in THE MURDERS OF THOUSANDS OF WOMEN IN CIUDAD JUAREZ (yeah, they wasn't sure about they screwed up).

The story is not ended, M.A.C. one of the most respected, bigger, part of
Esthée Lauder and prestigious marks in the fashion and make up scene decide to do a collection with RODARTE to be out in Fall 2010, the date September 15th (the same day Mexico will celebrate the Anniversary 200th of their Independence), I would lie if I tell I don't buy M.A.C. products, I buy them and some of them I really love them like the Hello Kitty limited edition line, but this time M.A.C. decide to make the RODARTE limited edition with the “fabulous“? smart? idea of the DEAD WOMEN IN CIUDAD JUAREZ, where thousands of young women, worker from the “maquiladoras“ has been KILLED with the “great“? names of this line:

With the brilliant idea of call them Juarez or Factory the polemic and the refuse about this collection has been show world wide. Actually M.A.C. decide to change the name of the all entire collection, the date out haven't change and M.A.C. RODARTE collection compromise to donate 100,000 USD (all we know they could and must help with so much more and all we know that) to non-governmental organizations dedicated to help the problematic in Ciudad Juarez

I'm not against the idea of the “dead look“ if someone who is reading this blog, knows something about the DRAG UND STURM the romantic movement in Germany, will know the fashion in that time was look with a sick face very pale and lips very marked, and the romantic movement explains this like “love to death“ (some other authors gives their own explanation, but this is what I've reading across these years) and I have made this look for myself like any other Gothic girl in the world or anyone who is not a goth but you make costume for Halloween. But YOU CAN'T TRY TO GET ANY MONEY WITH A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT IMPLICATE THE MURDER, THE PAIN, THE DEATH, THE RAPE OF THOUSANDS OF YOUNG WOMEN, A REAL PROBLEM THAT MEANS THE SUFFERING OF A LOT FAMILIES THAT HAS BEEN LOST THEIR BELOVED ONES, AND YOU CAN'T EXPECT THE PEOPLE WILL FOLLOW YOUR CRAZY IDEA IF THEY READ THE NEWS IN THE INTERNET AND THE JOURNALS AND SEE HOW HARD THIS SITUATION HAS LONG MORE THAN 10 YEARS, 10 YEARS OF AN ENDLESS FEAR.

M.A.C.-RODARTE has screwed up, a REAL EPIC FAIL, and thanks to internet, twitter even facebook contribute to make a change, and the big companies will think twice to put insensitive names, or they not going to call another collection with names like: “Anorexia and Bulimia “ and lipsticks like: “food-less“, “puking“ or “vomit“ (that will make people like me very angry), learn the lesson because we are not blind and shameless and maybe you will lose a lot of customers.

NOTE: this is my point of view, all the marks and names belongs to their owners, I don't have any money interest, I'm just expressing myself.
